Dear teachers/fellow debaters,
The Debate Association (Singapore) is co-organising the inaugural ValidITE Business Debate 2011-Post Secondary Competition with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE). The first JC-Poly-ITE debating competition in Singapore, it follows the internationally-used Asians Parliamentary Debating format at the tertiary level.
ITE is inviting a team from each Junior College/ Polytechnic that fulfils the following requirements.
- All participants from Junior Colleges must be year 1 Junior college students on 1st March 2011
- All participants from Polytechnics must be year 1 polytechnic students on 1st March 2011
- All participants from Institute of Technical Education must be either year 1 or year 2 students on 1st March 2011
To sweeten the deal, ITE is awarding a cash prize to the top three teams:

The competition will be adjudicated by competent adjudicators who are familiar with the Asians Parliamentary format. To ensure a high quality of adjudication, we have Miss Andrea Soriano as the Chief Adjudicator. Miss Soriano is one of Singapore's most competent judges, having broken at the Worlds Universities Debating Championships 2010 at Koc Worlds and has been a Chief Adjudicator and Deputy Chief Adjudicator at various tournaments such as the United Asians Debating Championship 2010 in Bangkok, the NTU Dorothy Cheongs Debating Championship 2010, Asians British Parliamentary 2010 and SMU-SCWO 2011 to name a few. She has also adjudicated at countless number of grand finals competition at the local and international debating tournaments.
