Debate Association (Singapore) is happy to announce the opening of registration for the Debate Association (Singapore) June Training Camp!
DA(S) warmly welcomes primary school debaters to its annual debate camp held during the June holidays. The camp is open to all regardless of debate experience.
The Camp will feature engaging lectures on argumentation skills by seasoned local debaters, as well as small-group breakout sessions with experienced facilitators. Over the three days, students will have access to practical, easy-to-grasp key debating ideas, as well as opportunities to put these ideas to practice. By the end of the camp, students should come away with a greater understanding of debate, confidence in expression, and a structured approach to critical thinking and questioning.

Results of DADC 2018
The Debate Association Debating Championships (formerly known as Speak! Ventures Debating Championships) is an annual tournament organised by DA(S) that serves as a crucial preparatory tournament for teams competing in the Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championships.
This warm-up tournament gives teams from all 3 divisions a chance to sharpen their skills and put what they've learnt to the test so that they can give their best at the Nationals, which normally runs from February to late April every year.
This year, DA(S) was honoured to have the National Coach of our very own Team Singapore, Mrs Geetha Creffield, serve as Chief Adjudicator of the competition to provide expertise in setting quality debate motions and judge debates. The tournament was held on 27th and 28th January at our venue partner for the second year running, Tanglin Trust School.
We hope that all debaters had a wonderful time, and we are grateful to all of our partners and their staff as well as the support of the debate community including teachers, coaches, judges, and all volunteers.

Secondary School Training Camp 2017 - Register Now!
Debate Association (Singapore) is excited to announce the opening of registration for the Secondary School Training Camp on 20-22 November 2017
DA(S) warmly welcomes debaters to its annual debate camp for secondary school students held during the November holidays. The camp has traditionally been targeted at beginners at the secondary school level, but this year will feature a radical new change to also cater to more experienced debaters and repeat participants.
Whether it is to gear up for the Singapore Secondary School Debating Championships in 2018, or just to learn the basics of debating, every student will leave the camp far more adept in the art of persuasion.

Debate Association (Singapore) held its Annual General Meeting on 30 July 2017 and an Emergency General Meeting on 27 August 2017, where a new executive committee was elected into office. The new DA(S) Executive Committee for 2017-2019 is as follows:

Team Singapore - The 2017 World Champions!
Debate Association (Singapore) is proud to announce that Team Singapore has emerged victorious in the recent World Schools Debating Championship 2017 and are now the reigning World Champions!
Congratulations to Team Singapore Coach Mrs Geetha Creffield and the debaters Au Wei Hoe (Captain), Ryan Wee, Siobhan Tan, Jonathan Yap, Wei Shu Yang, and Lee Jit Ping (alternate). They were also accompanied by Ms Evelyn Woels from the Ministry of Education (Singapore).
The World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) is an annual international tournament where the best high school debaters from each country are selected to represent their nation and battle it out in up to 13 debates held over an intense two-week period.
This year, 50 countries took part in the 29th edition of the WSDC held in Bali, Indonesia from the 1st to 11th August.
June Camp Registration Is Open!
Debate Association (Singapore) is pleased to open registration for our annual June Training Camp for Primary School students. This year, we are glad to have Catholic High School hosting our camp.
Our June Camp is a two-day non-residential camp, open to students who are in Primary 4 to 6 in 2017. The Camp will feature exciting masterclasses by experienced and accomplished senior debaters and judges, opportunities for students to hone their skills in hands-on activities, culminating in a mini-tournament in the national primary school debate championships format.
