Prometheus Cup - Call for Adjudicators

We set out an announcement from the Raffles Debate Academy below. The Prometheus Cup is our very own, homegrown international debating tournament; do try to lend your support!

Dear Adjudicators,

On behalf of the Raffles Debate Academy, we are pleased to invite you to adjudicate at the inaugural Prometheus Cup, an international debate competition that will be held from 24 - 29 November this year.

We have a total of 16 teams - 12 international and 4 local teams - participating in this competition. There are 8 preliminary rounds followed by the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Grand Final. Attached is the registration form with details on the debate rounds.

SJI U14 Debate Challenge 2011

Saint Joseph's Institution (SJI) Debating Society will be organizing its second Under 14 Debate Challenge on Saturday 29th October 2011.

The competition will be from 8am to 4pm, and will involve 3 preliminary rounds, the Grand Final, as well as an exhibition debate put up by adjudicators of the tournament! Do feel free to drop by to catch the debates.

We are also looking for adjudicators for the tournament. Drop us an email at if you are available to come down to judge.

SMU British Parliamentary-Inter Varsities 2011

We set out below an announcement from SMU's Debating Society for your information:

SMU's Debating Society (SMUDS) is delighted to announce that SMU BP-IVs will be held from the 14th to 16th of October, 2011. The tournament promises to be one of the most competitive tournaments in the run up to the World Universities Debating Championship. The format follows the British Parliamentary format, where teams of two speak for 7 minutes each.

Having hosted two tournaments earlier this year, SMU Debating Society is set to deliver a great tournament yet again with an extremely competent adjudication core. The Chief Adjudicator is SMU's very own accomplished alumni, Mr. Shrawan Saraogi; we also have Mr. Satya Venugopal, 2009 Asia's best speaker, as well as Mr. Mark Cordiner and Ms. Nishita Vasan as our Deputy Chief Adjudicators.
