Singapore Red Cross- University Michigan Alumni (Singapore) International Humanitarian Law Debate Series 2011

The Debate Association (Singapore), Singapore Red Cross (SRC) and University of Michigan Alumni (Singapore) will be organizing the International Humanitarian Law Debate Series 2011 on Saturday 29 Jan and Saturday 26 Feb for junior colleges, polytechnics and equivalent educational institutions. The tournament will be held at Anglo-Chinese Junior College. There are three debates on 29 Jan at 1045hrs, 1315hrs and 1615hrs and there are two debates on 26 Feb at 1030hrs and 1400hrs. Adjudicator Training Workshop

This workshop is organised by the Julia Gabriel Center for Learning in preparation for the upcoming Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championship 2011. Debaters who are currently in their second year of junior college or above and are interested to adjudicate at this tournament should sign up for this workshop. This workshop is also open to debaters who have adjudicated in previous years of this tournament and would like to have a "refresher". The workshop will be held on 21 January (5pm to 8pm) and 28 January (6pm to 8pm) at Anglo Chinese Junior College. Youth Debate Open 2010

The inaugural YDO in December is organised by the Youth Executive Committee (YEC) of the Jelutung Community Club @ Canberra.

Venue: The Jelutung CC@Canberra
Prelim (1 prepared and 1 Impromptu round)
Date: 14th December
Time: 9am- 12.45pm OR 12.45- 4.30pm (Teams are allowed to choose their preferred time as it is a weekday. We will do our best to accommodate the timings)

Semi and Final Round
Date: 18th December
TIme: 9-3pm

Targeted Group: Secondary school level debaters (School teams and Individual Teams are welcome)

Registration Fee: $50 a team (min 3 members, max 5 members)

Format: WSDC (6 min speeches with POIs)
